Great video!!! Such good information. I have four (under disc lights), which I bought in late winter, one bloomed but the others have not bloomed. They are in moss topped with bark. Feeding them MSU. I may have let them dry out before watering. So I’m thinking the wick technique maybe for the two small ones.

I love Tolumnias. They are tiny and doesn't require a lot of your grow space. What's your opinion on bottom watering Toluminas. I have read that Toluminas often suffer when water gets trapped in between their fans which can cause fungal attack. I tried mounting Tolumnias but they didn't survive in my type of tropical climate.

My tolumnias had root system problem. The moment new roots touched medium, they would dry up. I think that I maybe got a very finicky bach because I tried different mediums, went from tap to distiled watter(they were almost always moist) NOTHING CHANGED! I will buy them in future and see what happens, but my first 3 were vicious!

Well, I finally repotted all of my Thanksgiving cacti. The smaller ones I did in July and they have new growth on them. My Big Red didn't get trimmed back, divided, and repotted until 8/12, on my daughter's birthday. I wanted to get all of mine into the plastic orchid liners, and in the same size pots I removed them from. I will be shocked if any of them bloom this year, but I'm ok with that. I'm happy they all have fresh mixture and I can remove them from the ceramic pots to water them. I never knew they would be happy in the plastic orchid liners until you shared that with us. It was definitely very dehydrated when I received it. My sister says it hasn't bloomed for several years. I am an orchid grower and not really familiar with any of the holiday cactus. Thanks for all the great tips, especially the paper towel tip. I will use that! Early in my orchid growing I had roots rotting in the center of the pot growing in bark with just a bit of sphag. I found that if I put inverted 2” or 3” basket pots in the bottom of the pot, it really helps to dry out the center of the plant more evenly. I find it helpful with bark especially in transplant when you are not sure how much of the root system will survive. I’ve also seen people that use very large clay pots to grow specimen size plants use a smaller inverted clay pot the same way. God Bless you!
